Since Myspace Music became a social center for artists to quickly share their music over the web, social networking and its connection with the music industry has become almost an industry standard. Youtube/Twitter/Facebook/Foursquare/Gowalla/GetGlue/etc. have each helped shape the way the world interacts with their favorite musicians.
Lady Gaga has recently restarted an old tradition she had of publishing behind the scenes video blogs entitled “Gaga Vision.” This is a way that Gaga can reach out to her fans and give an inside glimpse of what happens beyond the stage.
Katy Perry is utilizing the Facebook Places platform to unlock special privileges for fans on her tour.
